Tree & Palm Pruning

Promote Healthy Growth

Tree pruning involves the careful removal of certain branches and limbs from a tree in order to promote healthy growth and improve its overall appearance. There are many benefits to pruning trees, both for the tree itself and for the surrounding environment.

One of the most important benefits of tree pruning is that it can help to prevent the spread of disease and insect infestation. By removing dead or diseased branches, you can prevent the problem from spreading to the rest of the tree, which can ultimately help to save the entire tree. Additionally, pruning can help to improve the tree's overall health and vitality, since it allows more sunlight and nutrients to reach the remaining branches and foliage.

ANSI A300 PRUNING STANDARDS

Arborists who adhere to the ANSI pruning standard A300 are dedicated to avoiding specific practices. These practices consist of leaving branch stubs, making unnecessary heading cuts, cutting off the branch collar (not making a flush cut), topping or lion's tailing trees (stripping a branch from the inside leaving foliage just at the ends), removing more than 25 percent of the foliage of a single branch, removing more than 25 percent of the total tree foliage in a single year, damaging other parts of the tree during pruning, using wound paint, pruning without a good reason, and climbing the tree with climbing spikes. By following these guidelines, arborists can ensure that the trees remain healthy and beautiful for years to come.
